Karla Vanraepenbusch


Photo de Karla VanraepenbuschKarla Vanraepenbusch (°1986) studied history at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. Her thesis concerned the creation of old age pensions for Belgian workers (1886-1914). She then obtained a master in museum studies at the Université de Neuchâtel in Switzerland for a thesis on the permanent exhibition of three Belgian museums on the First World War and their relationship to historical science. During her studies, she worked at the Centre d'étude du Musée international d'horlogerie (Switzerland).

Since 1 March 2014, she is associated to Cegesoma in the context of a PhD scholarship, in the framework of the Brain project of Belspo Recognition and Resentment: Experiences and Memories of the Great War in Belgium. Her research, under the supervision of Chantal Kesteloot and Laurence van Ypersele, concerns material memory traces of the First World War in Antwerp and Liège.
