Anne Roekens

Anne Roekens (°1977) holds a degree in history from the Université catholique de Louvain. In 2004, she defended her doctoral thesis, entitled “ Écran, mon petit écran, dis-moi qui est encore belge… Pour une lecture de programmes de la RTBF comme lieux de (co)construction identitaire en Wallonie (1962-2000)".

From 2004 to 2005, she was a research assistant at the Université de Namur (UNamur) working on a project concerned with Namur's judicial personnel in the 19th and 20th centuries.

In January 2006, she was employed by CegeSoma as head of the audiovisual sector and, in September 2006, she was appointed as a visiting professor in the History Department of UNamur where she has taught the courses on analysing iconographic documents and issues in contemporary history.

She left CegeSoma on 30 September 2007 but is still currently a member of the Journal of Belgian History Editorial Board.
