Karla Vanraepenbusch

Karla Vanraepenbusch (°1986) studied history at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), writing her thesis on the early history of retirement benefits in Belgium (1886-1914). She then completed a master's degree in museum studies at the University of Neuchâtel (Switzerland) presenting a thesis about the permanent exhibitions of three Belgian First World War museums and their relations to history. During her studies, she worked at the Study Centre of the International Clock Museum (Switzerland).

In March 2014, she joined CegeSoma as a doctoral scholarship student within the framework of the Brain (Belspo) project "Recognition and Resentment: Experiences and Memories of the Great War in Belgium". Her research focuses on the material traces of the First World War in Antwerp and Liège.

She left CegeSoma on June 30, 2018.
