Communisme en communisten in België. Nieuwe kritische benaderingen.

Op 22 oktober nodigt het CegeSoma/Rijksarchief, in samenwerking met het CArCoB/Dacob en MoSa 1800-2000 (KU Leuven), u graag uit om deel te nemen aan een internationale workshop rond het thema 'Communisme en communisten in België. Nieuwe kritische benaderingen.'

Deze studienamiddag ontleent zijn naam niet toevallig aan een verzamelbundel van wijlen José Gotovitch (1940-2024). Als voormalig directeur van het CegeSoma, hoogleraar aan de ULB en de drijvende kracht achter het Centre d'Histoire et de Sociologie des Gauches en het CArCoB, belichaamde José Gotovitch als geen ander de histoire croisée van de Tweede Wereldoorlog en de Koude Oorlog. Eén jaar na zijn overlijden willen we een aantal nieuwe onderzoekspistes aftasten en aandacht besteden aan vernieuwende methodologieën en recent ontsloten bronnenmateriaal.
De focus ligt daarbij weliswaar op de geschiedenis van het communisme in België, maar er wordt expliciet een brug geslagen naar het communisme als een inherent transnationaal fenomeen.
